If you have never really flown an RC Helicopter before I would recommend this one.
It is extremely easy to learn to fly. With the occasional crash it is build with a metal body that can take some pretty nasty wipe outs.
This helicopter even comes with spare parts which is extremely nice.
Using the remote it takes around an hour to charge. I would recommend using a USB Charging plug like what you use for modern cell phones. That drops charge time down to 20-30 min.
Flight time goes for around 10 min or so depending on how much your really on the throttle and how fast you try to move it around.
I wish Swann made a 4 channel version of this in a single rotor in the same size.
The 3 and 3.5 channel has a simple flight ability. You can climb, descend, go forward and backwards. Turn left and right. The option to slide left and right is only available in 4 channel helicopters.
But it is a great RC helicopter for flying around a semi good sized living room. Now this device is not micro small The Remote is slightly larger than a X-Box 360 controller.
All said and done this helicopter is a ton of fun to fly and if you have cats they might enjoy chasing it around your living room. I know my 3 cats love trying to knock it out of the air once in a while.

I've had other RC helicopters in the past... including some Air Hog brands and while they were all fun to fly, none of the ones I've had before has the type of high precision control that this thing has. All the movements you control on this helicopter are super precise. Perhaps the best descriptive word I can use is "robotic" because it really does give you a very high level of control. It basically blows the other helicopters out of the water when it comes to control. Even the forward and back movements were precise. As an experiment, I took off of my small bar stool and landed it on a similar bar stool about 15 feet away. The landing 'pad' of the stool was pretty small, but the precise control made it pretty easy to land it exactly where I wanted it to. Because of this, I think this toy would serve well as a beginner's helicopter. It seems to be built very sturdy too... many of the parts are metal (including the air frame). It's definitely the most sturdy RC helicopter I've seen in this size and price range. This helicopter is truly the best "bang for your buck". There is very little not to like about this product. The only thing I can think of is that it does take quite a while to charge ( up to an hour) and it only flies for about 5 minutes before you have to charge it again. However, I think this is mostly due to the limitation of battery technology at this moment in time. The battery on this thing is tiny and it is pretty amazing that it is powerful enough to even fly thing off the ground. I love the usb charging cable and the versatility of it. You can charge the helicopter from the RC controller or from any USB port. I used my iPod USB AC wall plug with no problems. I'm sure any USB port or USB wall plug power adapter will do.
Pros:
-Amazingly Precise Control... I'm not kidding! This thing is easy to fly because it's movements are so controlled and precise.
-Very Good Build Quality/Sturdy Design
-Superb Quality for the price!
-Versatile USB Charging using included USB cable. The cable even has a light that comes on when it's done charging.
-No set up required. Comes fully assembled.
Cons:
-Long charge time (45 to 60 mins) and short flight time (about 5 mins) per charge.
-Batteries weren't included, but I didn't expect them to be. you'll need 6 AA batteries by the way. I recommend rechargeable batteries. A good brand is "eneloop" batteries. Feel free to read my review on them too, lol.
Conclusion:
For the money, this thing goes above and beyond. I would recommend it to any helicopter/RC enthusiast... or anybody. It's perfect for a beginner or a pro. This thing is awesome... buy it, you won't regret it :) And no, I don't work for them.
